RICARDO KAKA ADVISES NEYMAR

The former Brazil international, Ricardo Kaka sarcastically advised his ex-teammate, Neymar on what to do in order to be a more successful footballer and also for him to be the world best footballer as the previous Brazilians.

The Barcelona star, Neymar has been performing wonderfully fine for his team, Barcelona since he moved to Spain from Brazil, with last season being one of his best seasons ever.

He had an invaluable impact in the club’s amazing 6-1 come-back over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League round of 16.

The 25-year old Neymar found the net twice to help Barcelona reach the quarter-finals before they were being knocked out by the Italian giants, Juventus.

Kaka thinks Neymar is currently on his path to being the world’s best player and he dropped a little joke sayingthat Neymar should try changing his name to Reymar as the previous most successful Brazilians’ name stars with “R”.

Meanwhile, the former Real Madrid forward could have a point as the likes of Ronaldo, Revellino, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho are all Brazilian stars of then.

“Taking a peep at everything he has done and achieved at Barcelona, Neymar could well be next in line to be awarded the best player in the world,” Kaka said. Read more »

Brazilian Football Gears Up For Copa America

With the Copa America event coming around the corner, all teams are sprucing up their squads.

Brazil is busy as well, deciding on the squad of players who would be going to this tournament and those who would be playing for Rio America. As of now, three players in the uncapped category have been selected for Copa America.

Among the three uncapped players, there is a Sau Paulo player who plays in center half, a goalkeeper who comes in from Benfica and a teenage forward player from Santos. These players are uncapped and are being considered for the centenary game in Copa America. These inclusions have surprised many when coach Dunga made his announcements. Including Gabriel, who is a nineteen year old striker, Ederson and Rodrigo Caio were surprises that were sprung by the coach on others. Dunga had several reasons to provide as well. For instance, he stated that Ederson has good vision, plays well and has a personality on the field. Rodrigo has a versatility about him. Brazilian football currently in decline

Brazilian football is currently in turmoil and would want to make changes so as to be competitive again. Some pundits have argued that this is the fact that Brazil is trying to copy the tactics of European formation, and this is causing a decline in the quality of Brazilian teams.

Indeed, except Neymar, there are no true world class players that are present in the team. And even Neymar may not get a place in the great 1970 team. They currently have players that are physically strong and athletic, but they lack players that can dribble or make a killer pass.

Other South American sides such as Argentina with players such as Messi and Aguero, Chile with Alexis Sanchez and Uruguay with Suarez have more technical players. These players can influence a game and win a game on their own.

Brazil has always offered us these kinds of players and so far there has been a shortage of them in the national side. The humiliating defeat by Germany on their home soil should have prompted changes in the way they develop new players, but instead, it has been more of the same. Read more »

It’s time for Roberto Martinez and Everton to forget about this recently concluded season

This season which concluded a few days ago was a horrific one for a number of clubs but there is one club that manages to stand out and not in a good way and its’ Everton.

Roberto Martinez during his first season in charge of Everton managed to push his team to the 5th spot with a total of 72 points secured in the previous campaign.

Going from the 5th spot to the 11th position is a huge blow for any club but for Everton they seem to have taken a bigger hit as the players themselves didn’t even appear to be interested in playing their last match of the season which was against Tottenham Hotspur and ended in a 1-0 defeat for Roberto Martinez and his team.

Everton’s match against Tottenham Hotspur was played on May 24 at Goodison Park and it just didn’t seem like the players of Roberto Martinez were inspired to claim a victory as the visiting team controlled the pitch from start till end while the hosts just allowed them on doing it without much opposition as Tottenham Hotspur won the game with a scoreboard of 1-0.

This game and result is the way that Everton has been playing for a large portion of the season with only a few bursts of positive results and performances on certain occasions but the majority of them were disappointing.

The players, the supporters and everyone that is involved in one way or another with Everton is well aware of just how frustrating this season was and Roberto Martinez announced that a number of changes will be done in order to not go through another underwhelming season. Read more »

Hulk is looking to make an impression on his national manager Dunga

Hulk is looking to make an impression on his national manager Dunga with a good show in the games versus the Costa Rican and the American team for which he has been included in the squad.

It’s the first time in his career that Hulk will be playing under Dunga.

Hulk was in Brazil’s World Cup squad too last year and although he was not at his best in the tournament as many of his teammates, he had managed to retain his place in the first squad that Dunga announced after taking charge.

But, he had to pull out from that squad due to injury and was being overlooked after that.

He has received the call up again and this time around, he is keen to establish himself.

Post a gruelling practice session last evening, the 29-year old was quoted as saying, “You have to grab your opportunities especially when you are from a country like Brazil where so many wonderful talents keep popping up.”

“I believe this is my time and I need to make sure I make the most of it and show what I have got to offer.” Read more »
